Bronly S. Boyd, Chairman

Bronly Boyd is the founder of Boyd Converting Company, which began operations in 1979, and brings 40 years of industry experience to Boyd Technologies. Bronly was graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He serves on the boards of The Berkshire Hills Fund for Excellence and The Stockbridge Land Trust. Bronly is a committee member of the Corporate Fundraising Committee of The Trustees of Reservations and a Trustee of Berkshire Health Systems, where he served as the Chairman of Fairview Hospital from 1994 to 1996. He is also the President of the Stockbridge, MA Golf Club. LinkedIn

B. Stephen Boyd

B. Stephen Boyd, CEO

Stephen joined Boyd Converting Company in 1999 as a Regional Sales Manager and was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2003 where he served until 2007 when he stepped into his current role as the CEO and President of Boyd Technologies. Prior to joining Boyd, Stephen was an Associate at Economic Growth Group in New York City and an Assistant Editor with Ski Magazine. He graduated from Middlebury College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Stephen is the Chairman and acting president of the Berkshire Innovation Center, Technology Accelerator and cooperative conference, training and R&D center in partnership with the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center. In his spare time Steve is an avid skier and enjoys mountaineering, golf, tennis and anything he does with his 2 kids. LinkedIn


Matt Boyd

Matthew B. Boyd, COO

Matthew joined Boyd Technologies in 2007 as the Vice President of Business Development. Prior to joining Boyd Technologies, Matthew was a Sales Associate at Citigroup Global Markets. Matthew received a BA in Economics from the University of Vermont and his MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. Matthew is a member of the Executive Committee of the River Valley Investor Group in Springfield, Massachusetts, and a volunteer for the Babson Coaching for Leadership and Training Program and the Institute for Family Entrepreneurship at Babson College. Scott M. Hand

Scott M. Hand, Lead Director

Scott M. Hand is the former Chairman & CEO of Inco Limited, having joined Inco in 1973, which prior to its acquisition by Vale S.A. in 2006, was a major Canadian-based multinational mining company. Scott is currently a member of the following publicly traded companies: Royal Nickel Corporation and Legend Gold Inc. in Canada and Chinalco Mining Corporation International in China. He is also involved in a number of private mining and oil and gas ventures. Scott is also a member of the boards of Boyd Technologies in the U.S. and Universal Helicopters, an Inuit-owned company located in Goose Bay, Labrador. He is also a board member of World Wildlife Fund Canada and the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams, Mass. Scott, who was born in San Francisco, California in 1942, is a citizen of both the US and Canada, and received a BA from Hamilton College in 1964; he then served in the US Peace Corps in Ethiopia from 1964-1966 and received a JD from Cornell Law School in 1969. He also received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree in 2005 from Memorial University in St. John's, Newfoundland. Prior to joining Inco, he worked at a New York City law firm. LinkedIn

Cary G. Bullock

Mr. Bullock is a Senior Advisor to RENEW Energy Partners, a firm engaged in investing in energy improvement projects in commercial, industrial and institutional facilities throughout the US. served as the CEO of ThermoEnergy Corporation from 2010-2012, a company involved in the development and sale of clean water and clean energy technologies. He has been a founder, principal and/or senior executive for several energy ventures. These include GreenFuel Technologies Corporation, Excelergy, Hillside Investment, FPL Energy Services, NS Power Services, KENETECH, Econoler/USA, and Xenergy. Mr. Bullock acts as an advisor to several early-stage companies, to entrepreneurs in the field, and he is a member of the MIT Venture Mentoring Service. He has been involved in negotiating in excess of $100 million in venture financing and $200 million in project financing transactions. Mr. Bullock has been a member of Business Week's Energy & Environment Council (2007-8). In 2001, he was named one of the 50 top IT managers in the energy industry by Pratts Energy. In 2002 and 2007, Mr. Bullock was a finalist for the Enrst & Young New England Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2000, he was named one of the 100 most influential individuals in the gas and electric business in the 20th century by Hart Energy Markets. Cary G. Bullock

Charles L. Cooney, Director

Dr. Cooney is the Robert T. Haslam (1911) Professor of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Emeritus in the MIT Department of Chemical Engineering and the founding Faculty Director, Emeritus of the Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation. He has published over 250 research papers, holds over 25 patents and has co-authored or edited five books. Among his many honors, Dr. Cooney has received the 1989 Gold Medal of the Institute of Biotechnological Studies (London); the Food, Pharmaceutical and Bioengineering Award from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers; and the James Van Lanen Distinguished Service Award from the American Chemical Society's Division of Microbial and Biochemical Technology. He was elected to the American Institute of Medical and Biochemical Engineers and in 2009 was elected to the first class of American Chemical Society Fellows. In July 2012 he was awarded Honoris Causa by Ramon Llull University in Barcelona. Dr. Cooney serves as a consultant to a number of biotech and pharmaceutical companies, is on the editorial boards of multiple professional journals, sits on the Boards of Directors of Mitra (India), enEvolv, GreenLight Bioscience, Pronutria Bioscience, Levitronix, Innovent Biologics, and was previously on the Boards of Genzyme, Biocon, Ltd., Cuno, Pall Corp., Polypore International and Astra AB. He chaired the FDA Advisory Committee for Pharmaceutical Science from 2004-2006. He received his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania (1966) and his Master's (1967) and Ph.D. (1970) degrees in Biochemical Engineering from MIT. Dr. Cooney is a Trustee Emeritus of Boston Ballet, and an Overseer of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
