Wellington Custom Fabrics promotes new General Manager

Lee, Massachusetts - Wellington Custom Fabrics announced today the successful completion of its first year of business under new ownership and the appointment of Stacey Richmond as General Manager effective December 1, 2008. Last year, Wellington Custom Fabrics announced its acquisition by Boyd Technologies Inc., a South Lee, Massachusetts-based management firm that operates specialty materials converters/distributors and markets the breakthrough technologies that use those materials."Getting to know the business has been exciting for us over the last year," said Stephen Boyd, President of Boyd Technologies. "Ensuring the success of our customers with high-quality materials and best-in-class customer service is our number one priority," he added. Wellington Custom Fabrics is a master converter/distributor of apparel accessories; its major focus is the embroidery backing market.

As a step toward new growth, Wellington has appointed its own veteran of the industry, Stacey Richmond, as the Company's new General Manager, effective immediately." It is an honor to offer this position to Stacey," said Dennis Martin, President of Wellington Custom Fabrics. "She is a leader in our business and has been a superstar during the last year," he added. According to Michael Covell, the Director of Human Resources at Boyd Technologies, the Company considered over 16 strong applicants for the position, and Richmond was the overwhelming first choice by the Boyd Technologies management team.

Stacey Richmond was chosen as General Manager because of her knowledge of the embroidery market, excellent customer relationships, and tacit knowledge of Wellington Custom fabrics. Richmond acknowledged, "It's an exciting time for me and the business; under Boyd Technologies we are positioned to grow the business in a healthy way that is consistent with the values Mr. Kurtz used to grow our foundation." Charlie Kurtz sold Wellington to Boyd Technologies in January 2008. Martin added, "Promoting internal champions like Stacey is where our success comes from." "This is a great organization that offers ample opportunity for managers like Stacey to grow on both a personal and professional level," he concluded.

Wellington represents the gold standard for high-quality backing and best-in-class customer service." At Wellington, we recognize the importance of quality, which is why our backing materials have the most consistent distribution of fibers in the market, allowing embroiderers to achieve the best garment consistency with their embroidery design or logo," said Richmond. "We also have the shortest lead times in the market and always remain competitive with our pricing," she said with a smile.

To partners in the apparel industry, Wellington Custom Fabrics specializes in converting and distributing specialty materials and delivers garment consistency, product development cycles, flexibility and global impact.
